Energy decision architecture

Govern dispatch, pricing, maintenance, demand-response and investment decisions across energy systems.

EDAF™ reference application

An architecture pattern for constrained infrastructure

The page applies EDAF™ concepts to dispatch, capacity and maintenance decisions. It is an architectural reference, not a claim of an energy-sector deployment.

The decision environment

Energy decisions reconcile demand, generation or supply availability, network constraints, market positions, maintenance and public obligations. Their value depends on a shared view of physical and commercial constraints.

A governed decision layer separates forecasts and optimisation proposals from dispatch or investment authority, preserving constraints, approvals, explanations and operational feedback.

Dispatching constrained capacity under changing demand

Demand changes while generation or supply availability, network limits and maintenance conditions constrain the feasible dispatch options. Operators need a current determination that respects both physical and commercial obligations.

Forecasts describe expected load and availability; optimisation compares feasible schedules; policy and operating constraints define what may be authorised. DecisionOne records the selected dispatch and the evidence available at that moment.

This is an architecture example, not a named customer case study or a claim of achieved results.

These are reference decision patterns, not a claim that every organisation uses the same policy, process or measure. Implementation begins by confirming the actual decision landscape, authority and evidence required.

What configuration changes—and what remains stable.

Industry terminology, source systems, policies, authority structures, workflows, KPIs and jurisdictional controls change by implementation.

The governed decision object, lifecycle, evidence model, dependency relationships and DecisionOps controls remain consistent.
